👉 Something I’ve noticed about thriving as a brand on social media in 2025.

It all comes down to engagement.

Not just replying to comments (that’s been important for over a decade) but starting conversations—with your audience, with other brands, and even with competitors.

The days of “post and ghost” are behind us. More than ever, we need to be part of the conversations already happening in our industry.

If I had to describe it in food terms…

I used to think of engagement as an appetizer—nice to have if you’re in the mood.

But now? It’s at least a side dish, if not the main course. Without it, your social strategy just isn’t getting the nourishment it needs.

Over the past few months, I’ve been running this approach for a client, and here’s what’s happened:

More likes – When I engage first, people reciprocate.

More followers – The right kind of engagement naturally attracts people.

More comments – Because I’m out there commenting on dozens of posts, too.

Massively increased reach – The algorithm rewards real interactions.

New clients – Staying visible has led to direct business.

This has worked especially well inside Facebook groups, but it’s also showing results on page posts, Instagram, and LinkedIn.

It’s simple:

✅ Start more conversations.

✅ Be curious.

✅ Engage with “competitors” in a friendly way (you might be surprised how well this works).

It creates real connections and makes your brand more visible—a win-win.

And if you know this is something you should be doing but realistically won’t get around to, I can take on 1-2 more projects for GenX or Boomer business owners who want more engagement but don’t have time to manage it.
